Katy Stone: BEFALL
@ GRIDSPACE
Opening Friday December 9, 6 – 8 PM

Darkness descending. A ceiling to floor sculptural installation of hundreds of feet of ribbon and mylar.
Spreading across the wall, spilling onto the floor, or cascading from architectural supports, Katy Stone's artworks are like Rorschach tests of natural phenomena. She paints on a variety of materials and layers the elements into assemblages that blur the boundaries between drawing, painting, and sculpture. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across the US and internationally, and has been reviewed in many publications. Her commissioned permanent works include projects for the GSA's Art in Architecture Program, Washington State Arts Commission, Conoco Phillips and Microsoft. Stone is based in Seattle and represented in New York by Ryan Lee Gallery.
